Colonial Cases

Egypt, Army

Cardigan Observer, 8 September 1894

It appears that the courtmartial upon the Pashas arrested on the charge of buying slaves, which was ordered to assemble on Tuesday, has been countermanded by the Khedive in a dispatch to Nubar Pasha. The Journal Egyptian continues its violent attacks upon Egyptian and British officials, while Le Bosphore supports the action of the officials and the execution of Egyptian law. It is since reported that Nubar Pacha telegraphed saying that the court martial would open. Chawarbi Pacha, who fled when the warrant against him was issued, has been arrested.
