MELANCHOLY ACCIDENT. - A melancholy accident happened at Large Fair on Tuesday se'nnight.  A monkey, belonging to a showman, got over a partition into another apartment of the caravan, where the mistress was dressing a child about 4 months old, and instantly sprung and fastened on the head of the poor little infant, and, in a moment, tore off that part of the skull at the opening of the head.  The child was alive on Saturday, but with little hopes of recovery. he father, who was in rather bad health, was so affected by the accident that he died on Thursday. - Greenock Advertiser.
