Profile

Emeritus Professor Zada Lipman has over 30 years experience teaching and researching in the area of environmental law with a particular focus on pollution law, international trade in hazardous waste, planning law and coastal management law. She has extensive publications in her areas of expertise, including five co-authored books. The 4th edition of her co-authored book: Environmental and Planning Law in New South Wales (with R Lyster, G Wiffen, N Franklin & L Pearson) Federation Press will be published in February 2016. She is a former Director of the Centre for Environmental Law at Macquarie University and the Centre for Environmental Dispute Assessment and Resolution. She also served as Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) in the School of Law. Emeritus Professor Lipman is a member of the (World Conservation Union) IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and a member of the Commissions' Special Working Group on Enforcement and Compliance and Oceans, Coasts and Coral Reefs. She is the Australian editor of the Environmental Liability Journal (UK) and a member of the editorial board of the Environmental and Planning Law Journal.

Research Interests

Environmental Law, especially pollution law, planning law, climate change and coastal adaptation law, biodiversity law.
