[arbitration]
Allan v. Meredith
Supreme Court of Van Diemen's Land
Montagu J., 10 June 1842
Source: The Hobart Town Courier and Van Diemen's Land Gazette, 17
June 1842
The aim of this suit was to recover payment for the erection of
certain buildings completed on the defendant's account.
As the only evidence which could be brought forward sprang from
the plaintiff's son, His Honor was of the opinion that the case
should be referred to arbitration since it would be impossible that,
as it then stood, the true merits of the case could be got at.
