Sir,
In transmitting to you the enclosed Certificate of the attendance of the revered L. E. Threlkeld [in margin "22 Aug 1835"] at the Supreme Court as Interpreter on the trial of Charley a Black Native for murder, I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to inform you, that the usual allowance for travelling is to me paid to Mr. Threlkeld , without, although he did not come from Lake Macquarie for this trial, was detained in Sydney to attend it by the Law Officers, as well as the sum of five Pounds [143] authorised for him on other similar occasions.
