Centre for Legal Governance

The Centre for Legal Governance reflects Macquarie University's Concentration of Research Excellence in the area of legal governance. The Centre is a hub of researchers concerned with issues relating to the legal governance and regulatory problems facing governments, businesses, and communities. The Centre for Legal Governance has an active program of monthly research seminars, and has organised a number of major public events under its rubric with the intention of raising its profile in the academy, profession and community.

Centre for International and Environmental Law

The Macquarie University Centre for International and Environmental Law (MU-CIEL)  incorporates the former Centre for Environmental Law (MU-CEL), which was one of Australia's first. The Centre builds on the research strengths and expertise of its academic staff in specific areas including international and comparative law, marine environmental law, water law and governance, sustainable corporate governance and financing, pollution and environmental regulation, climate change, planning and local government law, natural and cultural heritage. All Centre members also teach in the Macquarie Law School strengthening the research-teaching nexus. This expertise is particular demonstrated in the postgraduate coursework and research offerings.
