This website is designed to be an evolving collection of references on legal history/law and history in Australia and New Zealand. It was begun on the suggestion of a member of the Council of the Forbes Society for Australian Legal History. The members of the Australian and New Zealand Law and History Society have also discussed the idea of a web-based bibliography. This is thus an initiative of both societies.
If you wish to add material to the bibliography, please send an email message to Bruce Kercher (for Australia) or Cathy Coleborne (NZ). We prefer electronic messages, so that we do not need to re-key material. No particular form of referencing is required, though it makes it easier for us if the author's surname is first. We are particularly interested in adding thesis references, which are not readily obtainable. Anything bearing on Australian or New Zealand legal history or the combination of law and history interests us.

We are unable to create a subject index, though anyone who wishes to volunteer to group the references into subject matters is welcome to contact us.
