What is Discrimination?
Any behaviour between an individual or group that results in disadvantaging some people. It is against the law to discriminate on the basis of:
- Race
- Gender
- Carer’s responsibilities
- Marital status
- Age
- Disability
- Sexuality
- Transgender status
What is Bullying?
Bullying is any type of behaviour that offends, humiliates or intimidates someone; this also includes sexual harassment. Examples of bullying are:
- Verbal abuse
- Offensive gestures of a sexual or racial nature
- Exclusion
- Threat of physical attack
- Unwelcome remarks or leering
- Sending abusive or slanderous emails or SMS
- Intimidation
- Denigration in front of peers
- Verbal and emotional abuse
