The Law and Property Rights Research Centre hosts a variety of research-oriented conferences and seminars.

Recent events organised by the Centre include:

Culture and Commodification

A one-day colloquium on indigenous cultural property rights, held on 16 November 2001. Organised in conjunction with the Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Property Rights, The University of Newcastle, this colloquium brought together researchers and professionals from the Federal Court of Australia, museums, the legal profession, government departments and indigenous organisations. The keynote speakers were Professor Bruce Ziff, Law, University of Alberta, Canada and Professor Paul Havemann, Law, Waikato University, New Zealand.

Law's Enterprise: Law and Economy in History

This international conference was held on 11-13 July, 2002 in Katoomba. The keynote speakers were: Dr Chris Tomlins, American Bar Foundation and Professor Bruce Mann, Law and History, University of Pennsylvania.
