Credit for Previous Study

Students who have successfully undertaken studies at other recognised universities or tertiary institutions may be eligible for credit towards their undergraduate study at Macquarie (credit for previous studies). For more detailed information go to Undergraduate Studies @ Macquarie

Macquarie will advise you by letter if you are eligible for credit, and the subjects for which you may obtain credit. Credit is only available for units at 100 and 200 level.

Exemption from Units of Study

If you have been granted credit for previous studies, you may be exempt from taking some units at Macquarie if you have passed similar units at another institution. For example, if you have passed a similar unit to the foundation unit BUSL250 Business Law elsewhere you may be given an exemption from the unit which will allow you to directly enrol in 300 level units for which BUSL250 is usually a prerequisite.

If you need advice or approvals concerning exemptions from Business Law units (because you have studied similar units elsewhere) you should see Andrew Dahdal, who is the Business Law Exemptions Officer.
