Macquarie Law School

Law for Non-Lawyers

Current Macquarie University students interested in learning more about law without having to become a lawyer may be interested to enrol in our People and Planet units. The Law School teaches a Planet unit: Sustainability, Science and the Law, as well as a People unit: Law, Institutions and People-A Global Perspective each semester.

If you are currently a Macquarie University student and think you would like to start studying law, then you should look into the procedure for internal transfer.

Macquarie Law School also offers the opportunity for graduates with non-legal backgrounds to undertake specialised postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas and Master degrees in law. These programs provide graduates with the opportunity to round out their current expertise with knowledge of the law and legal systems. For further information on our postgraduate programs, click here.

If there is just one area of law that you are interested in learning more about, then you may be able to take a unit of study on a non-award basis.
