Dr Jean-Philippe Barde

Dr Jean Philippe Barde holds a PhD in Economics (Paris
University) and he is the Head of the National Policies
Division of the OECD Environment Directorate in Paris;
in this context, he is in charge of the OECD work on
taxation and environment.
Dr. Barde is also invited professor at the European
School of Advanced Environmental Studies (University
of Pavia, Italy) and the Institut des Hautes Etudes
en Administration Publique (Institute for High Studies
in Public Administration) of Lausanne, Switzerland.
He is also member of several scientific committees and
of the "Commission des Comptes de l'Economie
et de l'Environnement" (French Ministry
of Environment).
Dr. Barde has written several books and articles on
environmental policy and environmental economics, in
particular: Economie et politique de l'environnement,
Presses Universitaires de France, Paris, 1992 and co-authored
several collective books (most recent ones: Principles
of Environmental and Resource Economics, edited
by H. Folmer, L. Gabel and H. Opschoor, Edward Elgar,
London, 1995 and 2000. Ecotaxation, edited
by T. O'Riordan, Earthcan, London, 1996). Green
Tax Reform: Towards a Sustainable Society, Edited
by Hoi-Seong Jeong, Dong-Ki Min, Tae Yong Jung, Korea
Environment Institute, Seoul, 2000, Bringing Business
on Board: Sustainable Development and the B-School Curriculum,
edited by Peter N. Nemetz (JBA Press, Vancouver 2002).
He has also written more than 60 articles in economic
and environmental journals on environment-economics
issues, transport, noise, international environmental
issues, ethics.
