Jeffery J. Smith, president of the Forum on Geonomics and editor of The Geonomist, gets published in both the academic and popular press, recently appearing in The New York Times. His research tracks and measures the flow of rents within the US. To his organization he has recruited economists from Columbia, the OMB, and presidential commissions. Currently he has a bill in the Oregon legislature to shift the property tax from buildings to land. A member of the International Society of Ecological Economists and of Mensa, he organizes events in and tours to places considering reform of taxes and subsidies.
