Jiro Adachi has been studying problems of the tax system and the possibility of ecological tax reform in Japan. His current focus is the co-ordination between the reform of the existing energy tax system and the introduction of additional carbon taxes. Jiro has been coordinating a research group which consists of NGOs, professors, businessmen, licensed tax accountant, etc., and advocates the introduction of carbon taxes in Japan. His book entitled "C02 Tax" will be published this summer by Japanese publishing firm (3000 copies, first edition, only in Japanese).
