Thesis

Title

"Achieving Sustainable Marine Fisheries in Bangladesh: A Legal and Policy Analysis"

Overview

Numerous studies show that marine fisheries resources in Bangladesh have been overexploited. Therefore, conservation and sustainable management of marine fisheries have become a pressing need. As the laws and policies for regulation of marine fisheries in Bangladesh are scattered and dated, achieving sustainable marine fisheries will be a challenge for the government. The present research seeks to find actual gaps in the legal, policy and institutional frameworks for exploitation, conservation and management of marine fisheries in Bangladesh and delves into the means to fill in those gaps with a view to achieving sustainable marine fisheries.
