Occupational Health & Safety Committee
The Workgroup Occupational Health and Safety Committee for the Division of Law was formed following the implementation of the University’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System. There are altogether 18 Workgroup OHS Committees across the campus, each representing a division or a major office, and membership on the Committee will be for a period of 2 years. Under the supervision of the Central OHS Committee, each Workgroup will oversee all OHS related matters of the workplace it represents.
The major role of the Committee is to conduct workplace inspections and
review incidents to identify risks. These risks are then raised with management
to allow them to be addressed locally, as well as raising them with the
university’s Central OH&S Committee. Members of the Committee
will consult with staff periodically to advise of, and receive staff views
on any matter relating to health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
