Professors Donna Craig and Michael Jeffery spent part of their vacation leave in February teaching a class of undergraduate students from several small island countries throughout the Pacific. The students completing their undergraduate law degree at the University of the South Pacific at the University's Emalus campus in Vanuatu were enthusiastic participants, many of whom were exposed to environmental law for the first time. Both Donna and Michael are committed to the IUCN's goal of capacity-building leading to improved environmental education in the Pacific Region and were pleased to have had the opportunity to assist USP in delivering a Natural Resources Law unit specifically tailored to reflect the interests and priorities of small island developing States.
