MU-CEL member Susan Shearing has been hard at work in the past several months completing a substantial revision of the curriculum and course material for several units of study offered by MU-CEL at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include Law 807/861 Local Government Law and Law 804/859 Heritage Law and Policy as well as the important foundation units, Law 510 Environmental Law and Law 811/855 Environmental Law and Ethics (with Donna Craig).
Susan is currently researching in the area of incentives for private property owners to conserve biodiversity, focussing on the efficacy of conservation covenants under Commonwealth taxation legislation and comparing the Australian system with similar measures in the US and UK.
