MU-CEL members awarded $78,000 research grant by US-based Christensen Fund for work in Melanesia.
Professor Michael Jeffery is pleased to announce that Macquarie University through MU-CEL has just been awarded a competitive research grant from the Christensen Fund, a major US Foundation based in San Francisco for the sum of US$59,211 ($78,000 AUD). The research project in Melanesia is titled "A Project to Develop Legal Strategies to Strengthen Community-Based Institutions, Customary Laws and Environmental Management Approaches."
Professors Michael Jeffery and Donna Craig will be the project directors with the grant being administered through MU-CEL.
