MU-CEL member David Leary has been invited to speak and present a paper at the International Marine Protected Areas Congress in Geelong, Australia in late October.
The International Marine Protected Areas Congress co-hosted by the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, Parks Victoria and the Great Barrier Marine Park Authority will be attended by more than 500 experts in marine protected areas and oceans policy from over 64 countries.
David will be presenting a paper titled “ Conservation and management of vulnerable deep-water ecosystems on the high seas: Are Marine Protected Areas all that are required?” David’s paper is one of 160 papers selected from a field of more than 500 papers in a rigorous two stage peer-review selection process.
