David Leary speaks at CSIRO Symposium (May 2005)
David Leary was recently invited to speak at a symposium organised by the CSIRO in early May. The Deep Blue Minerals Workshop was organized as part of the CSIRO Wealth from Oceans National Flagship Program and was attended by representatives from the mining industry, the National Oceans Office, Geoscience Australia and other universities.
David presented a paper on environmental law issues associated with work being done by the International Seabed Authority on regulating prospecting and mining for polymetallic sulphide deposits in the deep-sea.
