I obtained my B.A degree from Zhangnan University of Economics and Law in China and LL.M degree from Wuhan University in China.

I began my PhD program at Macquarie University in February 2007. The topic of my thesis is 'How the CDM under the Kyoto Protocol May be Used to China’s Benefit'.

Set out in Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol concerning the quantitative limits on net greenhouse gas emissions, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is a win-win strategy open to Contracting Parties classified as developed countries or countries with economies in transition. CDM projects have been carried out in China in a tentative way, and as a result a large number of problems are identified, and await solutions.

I would like to explore the opportunities and challenges raised by the CDM from China’s perspective and to put forward solutions to the many problems of implementing the CDM in such a populous country.

My principal supervisor is Professor Michael Jeffery, QC.
