Giving thought to China's unique circumstance, my Ph.D thesis will explore the viable policy reform of water use in China with a focus on altering China's traditional administrative approach. Scarce water resources among various users have not been allocated effectively and my thesis will attempt to investigate the use and implementation of market-based instruments in the specific context of water allocation in China
The academic focus of my research will be on the definition of water rights in China on which water trading and subsequent water markets are based, the establishment of China's Integrated Water Resources Management, and the solution to domestic and international water conflicts.
My favorite recreational interest is Chinese Zither, a Chinese traditional musical instrument.
My supervisor is Professor Michael Jeffery, QC, Director of the Centre for Environmental Law.
