SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH APPROACHES TO BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

Venue: Wallaby research facility, Division of Environmental and Life Sciences, Macquarie University.

During a tour of the facility, delegates will see a range of marsupials bred at the research facility. Staff and postgraduate students of the Division of Environmental and Life Sciences will outline a number of research projects currently being conducted, including predator recognition and behavioural hierarchy, immunology inside pouches of smaller wallabies and population control of kangaroos using contraceptive implants.
